The Regiment
Man Who Never Missed
Redliners by David Drake (Published by Baen Books) An excellent book. I highly recommend it. See my Review.
Officer Cadet by Rick Shelley (Published by Ace Books) Would be better if the author knew anything about small unit tactics.
WarStrider by William H. Keith, Jr. (Published by AvoNova SF) Overall a satisfactory novel. Similar to the Battle Mech series but more realistic. Nano technology is central to the story. There are several other books in the series but this and the second one are the best in my opinion.
Semper Mars by Ian Douglas (Published by Avon SF) The first of a three book series. I can’t wait to get my grubby paws on the other two books but they haven’t been published yet.
Commando Brigade 3000 edited by Martin Harry Greenberg and Charles Waugh (Published by ACE SF) An older collection of short stories. I liked it.
Starfist 1: First to Fight by David Sherman and Dan Cragg (Published by Del Rey). There is some hope for this series. Warfare is incredibly simplistic and not very realistic but I would buy the next book in the series.
Starfist 2: School of Fire by David Sherman and Dan Cragg (Published by Del Rey). The next book in the series. Like the first, warfare is way too simple but I would still buy the next book in the series.
Enders Game by Orson Scott Card (Published by Tor SF). An excellent classic. This Science Fiction book ended up on the US Marine Corps recommended reading list.
Adiamante by LE Modesitt Jr. (Published by Tor Books). An excellent book by an excellent author. This is military SF that manages to be very intense without a lot of action. I would highly recommend this one.
The Parafaith War by LE Modesitt Jr. (Published by Tor Books). Another excellent book by Modesitt. I liked Adiamante better though.
A great series that takes SF into a new realm – the Supernatural. This series is excellent because the universe is so detailed and intricate. Very good.
The Reality Dysfunction: Emergence by Peter F. Hamilton (Published by Warner Books)
The Reality Dysfunction: Expansionby Peter F. Hamilton (Published by Warner Books)
The Neutronium Alchemist: Conflict by Peter F. Hamilton (Published by Warner Books)
The Neutronium Alchemist: Consolidation by Peter F. Hamilton (Published by Warner Books)
At first I thought this series would be pretty lame but once I got book one I couldn’t wait to get book two and all the others in the series. Although the Paratwa seem a little to ‘Superman’ I loved the universe they lived in. It was very intricate and twisted.
